Manchester United unveiled their new home kit for the 2019/20 season earlier this week.

It commemorates the 1999 treble-winning side, who famously won the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League in dramatic fashion.

United fought back from 1-0 down against Bayern Munich in Barcelona to win 2-1 thanks to last-minute goals from Teddy Sheringham and current manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

On either sleeve of the new shirt there's a small black tab with the minutes of each goal - 90+1 and 90+3 - printed inside.

In a statement on their website, United described the design as "classic" and detailed the various acknowledgements to their rich history that can be found on the kit.

"The new shirt acknowledges the minutes in which those historic goals were scored with 90+1 and 90+3 printed on the sleeves," the statement read.

"The dates of the FA Cup final win over Newcastle United and decisive Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur are also displayed along the bottom of the shirt.

"Another new addition to the United shirt is a commemorative crest, which takes inspiration from the shield seen on the chests of our treble-winning heroes 20 years ago.

"The crest will also adorn the new home goalkeeper jersey, which has a tiger pattern featuring a dark purple two-tone design."

On the whole United's new strip has been well received by fans, who will be even more interested in buying it now that David Beckham has been pictured wearing it.

During a kickabout with sons Brooklyn (20), Romeo (16) and Cruz (14) at Queens Park Rangers' Loftus Road on Friday, Beckham posed for a picture that will make you feel rather old.

Beckham seems to make everything look better, doesn't he?

The 44-year-old will be hoping his former club can seek inspiration from the new home kit following a disastrous season.

Changes are afoot at United and it's expected that Solskjaer will look to replace a number of his under-performing players in the summer transfer window.
