Andre Silva produced a brilliant piece of trolling on the day that the Bundesliga returned after more than two months on hold.
The Portuguese striker was on the losing side as Frankfurt were beaten 3-1 by Borussia Monchengladbach.
Silva did score but otherwise it was a day to forget.
However, he still managed to have some fun as he shared a funny moment with Monchengladbach’s Breel Embolo.
A clip has emerged of Silva handing Embolo what appears to be a piece a paper, presumably with Frankfurt’s tactics on it.
Embolo had the last laugh, though, with Monchengladbach cruising to an easy win in their first game back following the coronavirus suspension.
They were 2-0 up inside 10 minutes thanks to goals from Alassane Plea and Marcus Thuram.
Ramy Bensebaini converted a penalty in the second half and Silva’s late goal proved to be nothing more than a consolation.
Monchengladbach came close to scoring a fourth but Frankfurt’s Martin Hinteregger produced an incredible stop to deny Jonas Hofmann late on.
The win moved Marco Rose’s side into third in the Bundesliga table after RB Leipzig dropped points at home to Freiburg.
The battle for the title it hotting up, with just four points separating leaders Bayern Munich with RB Leipzig in fourth.
Borussia Dortmund moved one point behind Bayern with a convincing 4-0 win over Schalke in the Revierderby.
Next up for Monchengladbach is a home tie against Bayer Leverkusen.
